Vienna Center for Engineering in Medicine / Awards

Every two years, ViCEM awards the ViCEM Award for the Best Diploma Thesis in Engineering in Medicine and the ViCEM Award for the Best PhD Thesis in Engineering in Medicine.

The two awards are intended to promote innovative diploma and master theses as well as PhD theses at the crossroads of engineering and medicine and to give them the attention they deserve.

In addition to scientific excellence with potential future impact on the broad international scale, evaluation criteria also include the relevance of the work to medical/engineering practice.

The scientific theses must have been successfully defended at TU Wien and/or MedUni Wien.

The next call for submissions is planned for late 2026.
